Berry Banana Smoothie

Berry Banana Smoothie

This is my 'I have four minutes and still want to feel like a functioning adult' breakfast. A frozen banana is the whole secret — it makes the smoothie thick and milkshake-creamy without a drop of ice watering it down.

I keep a freezer bag of peeled, chunked bananas and mixed berries going at all times, so this comes together straight from the freezer. Add the liquid first, then the frozen fruit — your blender will thank you and blend far more smoothly.

Greek yogurt does double duty here: it makes it luxuriously thick and quietly sneaks in protein, so it actually holds me until lunch instead of leaving me raiding the snack drawer at 10am.

Mia's tips

  • Freeze ripe bananas in chunks — it's the difference between creamy and thin.
  • No Greek yogurt? A scoop of vanilla protein powder or a spoon of nut butter works.
  • Too thick? Add milk a splash at a time until it just moves in the blender.
