- 1Brown beef and onion in a large deep skillet over medium-high, breaking up the meat, 6–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 2Add garlic, tomato paste, paprika, and mustard powder. Cook for 1 minute.
- 3Stir in broth, milk, and macaroni. Bring just to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- 4Cook uncovered for 10–12 minutes, stirring often, until pasta is tender and the sauce lightly coats it.
- 5Turn off heat and stir in cheddar a handful at a time. Season, rest 3 minutes, and serve while creamy.
